Yes, I got way crafty. Have you seen those popsicle stick bracelets you can brand? They're very cute, and you curve the popsicle sticks to your volition in water and force them to dry in little semi-circles. Then you make them all pretty and just wear them and people faint when they spy them. True story. Just await at Molly Moo's popscicle stick bracelets.

The problem was, I bent some popsicles sticks, tried them on my wrist, and they were actually annoying. Fen thought so, as well, and so I had several roundish popsicle sticks sitting on a shelf in the basement, staring at me and daring me to brand something every time I walked by them.

I couldn't have it whatever longer. Those popsicle stick not-bracelets wouldn't win. And then I SLATHERED them in chalkboard paint and slapped them around some glasses and made chalkboard painted potable labels. Yes. No more swapping disgusting deadly germs with drinking partners.

Materials:

  • Popsicle sticks – wide
  • Chalkboard paint
  • Straight glasses or something like to human activity as the mold. Our glasses were approximately ii iii/4″ in diameter.

Directions:

Y'all will need lots of popsicle sticks, because when you go to bend them, some are bendable and some prefer to snap. Feel free to swear actually loudly and stomp on the ones that break, because they suck.

Anyhow, Place about 3 times every bit many sticks as you need in a pot of h2o, bring them to a boil and let them simmer for near 30-40 minutes. This will requite you time to sentinel your episode of whatever you lot taped last night. Like Wheel of Fortune.

You can let them sit longer in the water while you take one out and examination information technology to run into if it is pliable.

Hither is my bending method: start from the center of the stick, and use both hands to verrry gently bend the stick, working your hands out toward the edges and coaxing information technology into a semi-circle as you become. The ones you have success with, you can tuck into a glass. These will dry in here overnight.

When they are all nice and dry, remove them and chalkboard pigment them. Practise inside and out, because the sticks tend to curve a little in the direction of the paint (if that makes sense) and yous can sort of balance information technology out by painting both sides.

That's pretty much it. When the chalkboard paint dries, write the names of your favorite people or imaginary friends on them with chalk, and have a party.
